Description
Product code: RS0042803GLDThis beautiful necklace features an intricate coastal scene inspired by RNLI heroine, Grace Darling. Grace rowed out to sea into a terrible storm in 1838 and saved nine people’s lives. She was the daughter of a lighthouse keeper, William Darling. When they spotted the outline of a shipwreck from their lighthouse, they saw it as their duty to rescue the survivors.
A nod to Grace, the coastal scene features a lighthouse. It is a beacon of hope – just like the RNLI has been, and continues to be, to so many people in desperate need of help. Nautical rope and buttercup flowers surround it, symbolising unity, strength and friendship.
This necklace has been designed by Alex Monroe Ltd. to celebrate the RNLI’s 200th year. Committed to minimising the impact of their work on the environment and people, Alex and his team handmade this necklace in England.

Care instructions:
- We strongly advise applying any cosmetics and scents before you put on your jewellery as skin and hair products can react with jewellery causing it to tarnish or discolour. Chemicals found in pools, springs or the sea can contribute to tarnishing your jewellery.
- Remove any jewellery before engaging in any form of physical exercise, as this will ensure our delicate jewellery is not accidentally damaged. We do not recommend sleeping or showering in your jewellery.
- We recommend storing your jewellery in a zip lock bag as exposure to the air and environment can cause your jewellery to tarnish. Do not store jewellery next to heating vents, windowsills or in the bathroom.
- You can use warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush to remove dirt.
